The Royal Serbian Government not having answered in a satisfactory manner the note of July 23, 1914, presented by the Austro-Hungarian Minister at Belgrade, the Imperial and Royal Government are themselves compelled to see to the safeguarding of their rights and interests, and, with this object, to have recourse to force of arms. Austria-Hungary consequently considers herself henceforward in state of war with Serbia.

Trench Storm is an attempt to create a miniatures wargame that will accurately and realistically simulate ground combat during the first world war. Hopefully it will succeed in combining historical accuracy with playability and ease of accessibility. Thanks, Ivan Sørensen.

Trench Storm is written so that first you will find all the common rules for fighting regular infantry battles. Then you will find special rules including tanks, poison gas, flame-throwers and much more. Finally, descriptions and rules for various battles you could fight and the army lists used for selecting your forces.

These rules are absolutely free, and can be freely copied and given to anyone who holds an interest in World War I wargaming, and wargaming in general. However, I ask one little thing of you if you distribute these files: Do not alter the files in any way. I don't mean to say that everybody has to play these rules the way I made them, and you are certainly free to use them any way you want. But if you send them to a friend, please ensure that it is clear what I wrote, and what you have added. Also, if you add something to the game or use anything in a different way, please tell me. I'd be happy to know, and who knows…it may end up being part of the game rules.
